He Lights Up My Life
I really like looking at our garden lights at night. We have led lights that are powered by solar energy. They are small but they look so nice from afar especially since we don’t have any other light in that area.
The husband and I are actually planning to buy more and we will place them on each side of the walkway. That will certainly look pretty. We actually stayed outside for a few minutes last night and just stared at the lights. It was lovely not to mention, romantic. Am I being sappy now?
No Green Thumbs Have We
Lately, our weekends have been spent planting. We didn’t do much last spring so we are making the most of it this year. It’s mine and my husband’s first try because we both are not into gardening really. We are clueless when it comes to plants. Good thing our neighbors are helping us and giving us information.
Last Sunday, we planted lilies that our neighbor gave us. Unfortunately, the husband who was not used to digging hurt his back. He probably hurt a nerve or pulled a muscle. Hopefully he will not need a discectomy. That would be really a big problem. But we do think it’s going to be okay because he is feeling a lot better now after taking some pain medicines and getting some rest. I think he’s just getting old. What do you think, Honey? Teehee.
Hurry Up, Spring; I’m Ready for the Great Outdoors!
It can’t be denied, spring is certainly just around the corner. We went shopping for home decors yesterday and outdoor umbrellas are already on display. There was actually one that caught my fancy, but we don’t need one just yet because we bought us a new patio umbrella last spring. And though it has been outside all autumn and winter, it is still looking good. And should last for years, I believe, and maybe even a lifetime because we did choose one that is durable. But still, it remains to be seen.
For My Hubby, the Grill’s the Deal
It’s still the middle of winter, but everybody’s already looking forward to and can’t wait for spring. We’re all tired of this chilly weather. I am not that tired really, but of course, I do look forward to spring too. What I like most about it is we get to spend time outside grilling and having our meals out on the deck.
And speaking of that, we do need a new grill because the one that the husband has finally died on him last year. He was thinking of fixing it, but it will cost him more than buying a new one. That grill from GrillsDirect.com is a good contender. I saw it earlier and I will show it to the husband later. I’ll bet he will agree with me.
The Place Sure Needed a Woman’s Touch
When it comes to decorating our humble abode, I definitely have plans. My husband stayed here alone for many years so just imagine what the house looked like when I arrived – a typical bachelor’s pad. It certainly needed a woman’s touch and though I’ve done some few decorating here, there is still a lot that I want to do.
Changing some of the old furniture; yeah, that is a definite to do. I had been looking and there are just so many choices that I like, including hickory furniture. But I have a budget so I just can’t grab it at the moment. I’ve been thinking of having a built-in cabinet too for the TV and his enormous collection of books. I still have to ask his carpenter stepson about that so I will have an idea how much will it cost. I do hope it won’t cost us an arm and a leg.
